The Presentation Design Toolbox: Design Resources

Stepping into presentation design without the right resources on hand can be daunting.

But having the right design toolbox at your disposal can make all the difference!

With IG, you’re covered with our invaluable design resources and tools to streamline your process and improve your presentations from brief to design, to review and delivery.

The Noun Project:

A common initial project we do with our clients is to build out a set of reusable icons that represent different processes, recurring themes and signposting. Expressing style specifications through icons can be challenging when you don’t have a strong design vocabulary, or an existing set of guidelines to work off.

In this instance, we recommend using online resources such as The Noun Project which serves as a bank of free icons, for almost every situation you could ever need them for! Having cohesive-looking icons and imagery can quickly improve your presentation.

Efficient File Sharing:

Once you know what you want out of your design, it’s time for the brief. We’re happy to receive files and attachments over email, but sometimes the files can be too large.

Tools such as WeTransfer or Dropbox come in handy, offering a seamless way to share files without the constraints of email. Handling large files effortlessly is a necessity.

We’re happy to receive files through these sources. Once received, we then upload them directly to our secure cloud server.

Canva:

Need quick edits and adaptations? Canva might not be as flexible as Adobe Suite, but it’s a rapid solution. Use Canva’s templates as a starting point to effectively communicate design ideas for a brief or to make a quick graphic in your branding. At IG we’re always happy to work in your existing Canva account, so you can have your templates and graphics ready to go!

Adobe Suite + Creative Cloud Libraries:

Efficiency is key, and Creative Cloud Libraries offer just that. Store essential brand information and brand kits in one place, ensuring consistency and ease of access for your team.

Across Adobe InDesign and Illustrator, IG use CC libraries to give us easy access to our clients’ branding, font styles and preferred images.

Adobe Acrobat Pro:

When time is of the essence, and those last-minute tweaks or edits are critical, Adobe Acrobat Pro steps in. No need to grapple with complex software like InDesign; use the edit function in acrobat for swift alterations.

Review Tools:

Streamline the review process with Adobe’s review tools. Send us marked up PDFs directly, insert deletions or recommendations, facilitating efficient collaboration and feedback integration.

Navigating presentation design becomes a smoother journey with the right tools and resources.

These resources we’ve highlighted are tried and tested, ensuring that your design process is not only efficient but also impactful.
